HSU Song Competition 2011

The Hindi Speaking Union National Song Competition was held on Saturday, 2 July 2011. There were 10 finalists who were to display their performance before the jury and a wonderful audience present at the Serge Constantin Theatre, Vacoas.

The Master of Ceremony was: Mrs. Anju Ghurburrun and the Members of the Jury:

Manilal Doctor in Mauritius

Manilal Doctor Hindi Play

To mark the arrival of Indian Indentured Labourers in Mauritius, The Hindi Speaking Union and the Aapravasi Ghat Trust Fund, under the aegis of the Ministry of Arts and Culture organised the Hindi/Bhojpuri play: Manilal Maganlall Doctor Shah in Mauritius. The play is performed by the Academy of Performing Arts under the direction of Mr. Mahess Ramjeeawon. The gala show was held on 30 Oct. 2010 at RTI, Ilot and subsequent representations throughout the island were performed as follows:

मॉरीशस में हिंदी

मॉरीशस में हिंदी भाषा का इतिहास लगभग डेढ़ सौ वर्षों का है। स्वतंत्रतापूर्व काल में यह भाषा बीज रूप में थी। भोजपुरी बोली के माध्यम से हिंदी विकसित भाषा को करने में भो तो का विशेष योगदान रहा है। खेतों में कड़ी धूप में गूँजने वाले लोक गीतों में, शाम की "संध्या" में, रामायण-गान में, त्योहारों में, हर कही यह भाषा अबाध्य रूप से बढ़ती चली गई। बैठकाओं में हिंदी भाषा का अध्ययन-अध्यापन होने लगा। भारतीय आप्रवासियों ने अपनी भाषा तथा संस्कृति की शिक्षा को ही अपने बच्चों के उद्वार का उचित मार्ग माना। 1901 में महात्मा गांधी जी की प्रेरणा से ही भारतीय आप्रवासी अपने बच्चों को शिक्षा तथा राजनीति के क्षेत्र में अग्रसर करा पाए।
