To mark the arrival of Indian Indentured Labourers in Mauritius, The Hindi Speaking Union and the AapravasiGhat Trust Fund, under the aegis of the Ministry of Arts and Culture organised the Hindi/Bhojpuri play: ManilalMaganlall Doctor Shah in Mauritius. The play is performed by the Academy of Performing Arts under the direction of Mr. MahessRamjeeawon. The gala show was held on 30 Oct. 2010 at RTI, Ilot and subsequent representations throughout the island were performed as follows:
The Hindi Speaking Union National Song Competition was held on Saturday, 2 July 2011. There were 10 finalists who were to display their performance before the jury and a wonderful audience present at the Serge ConstantinTheatre, Vacoas.

The Hindi Speaking Union is organising a Hindi Poetry recitation competition for pre-primary schools at National level.
The poems should not be of more than 3 minutes duration and may be provided wherever required. Our team will also assist in the preparation of pupils whenever required.
The first prize will be Rs. 3000, second prize is Rs. 2000 and the third prize Rs. 1000
The Hindi Speaking Union, in collaboration with the Ministry of Arts and Culture and the Ministry of Education & Human Resources is organising a Story Telling Competition for Students of Std V.
